Happy birthday! What better way to celebrate than a perfectly frosted and sprinkled vanilla cupcake? Babyruthinmd shows us how it's done with this gorgeous photo.

Flickr user Jerine, her boyfriend, and friends had a cupcake party! It looks like so much fun. Check out some of the other cupcake photos at her cupcake blog. Anyone else hosted or attended a cupcake party? I imagine there's lots you could do, either with a kiddie theme or one for adults. Even a mixed party.

Of the many cupcakes I'll be cramming in my mouth in Austin next weekend, one place I'm really looking forward to is A Cupcake Bar.

It is difficult to get a true blue with any cake batter that has egg yolks and butter because the yellow pigments make the blue dye turn green. I haven't made a blue velvet (I've made yellow velvet from lemon cake), but if I wanted a blue cake, I would make a white cake batter and add blue gel food coloring. Top it with cream cheese icing and you should have the effect you're after. Good luck! Claudia

so my bff is giving me a baby shower. here in the south we love red velvet cake. i have seen a few place for blue velvet cake (its a boy) but i want a strong blue color with out the die taste. but if i add blue to chocolate with it turn to black? anyone have recipe they want to share? or if i take out the chocolate in the red velvet recipe will it taste funny. any help please thanks :)

The Orange cupcakes are amazing with the orange pudding and also the peanut butter ones. I think they are the moistest yummiest cupcakes I have ever baked!
