I have an add for this house on Dollhouse on Finn I just need some space and want to part with this. Again this is for my Norwegian readers and those that live near by as this is a pick up only. Lots of handmade items inside but still some space to make it your own:)This dollhouse has been used in a music video by Marie Mena. Hope someone has the time and place for it.

The Tennyson Dollhouse Day 8

I went head and assembled the doors today. This house has a double entry door and a side door. All of them are made from laminated pieces. I decided to go ahead and do them now so they are nice and dry when I get ready to install them.

It takes some pressure to insert doors into their openings on dye cut dollhouses so you want to make sure your doors have dried, at least over night, before attempting to install them or they will pull apart under the pressure.

Binder clamps are the greatest thing invented since sliced bread. They are priceless for dollhouse building.

switch to oranges!

I know orange cuts grease and I have many cleaning supplies that have orange in it, so when we were at the home and garden show I saw this demonstration, hubby goes, oh, NO, another gadget! But he was game to try it and it WORKS!!

As our refacing of the cabinets is on hold and hubby is dead set against painting them this was the alternative. I tried to take some close ups but you'll have to take my word for it!

You know how the wood gets from water, grease, etc . . all those marks, they're gone and the cabinets look like new again!

First you apply the Touch of Oranges Wood Cleaner & Reconditioner and then the Touch of Bees Wax with Orange Oil! Kitchen done, two bathrooms done, now on to the master bathroom!

LOL, not the most exciting post, but occassionally I do do housework, LOL

The Tennyson Dollhouse Day 7

I’m done wallpapering except for one room. I want to go ahead and apply the carpeting to the living room.

The best way to apply any fabric to a floor or wall is make a paper template of the area you want to cover first. This room was easy because its completely square and its almost the size of an 8x11 paper sheet.
I then used the paper template as a guide to cut out my fabric piece.

I applied tacky glue all over the floor, sparingly, and then used a foam brush to smear it into all of the corners and edges.

I then applied my fabric piece over it.

I don’t have to worry about the fabric fraying because Im going to use baseboards all around the wall joints. The only area I have to worry about is the back floor edge. I used a little tacky glue all along this edge to keep it from fraying in the future. You can also use the anti fabric fray glue they sell at the fabric store. Tacky glue works well. It dries clear and seems to do the job.

I really like the color of the carpet and the wallpaper. They seem to compliment each other.

I also have enough fabric left over to make a staircase runner.

Hannah is back from her trip. She had a wonderful time. I'm happy to have her back home. I have been very busy with many things but my favorite is my miniatures. Once the primer is dry, you can begin wallpapering. Make sure you read my Wallpapering Guide if your new to this.

Always turn your wallpaper over corner joints. This gives the house even more strength.

Show and Tell ~ 1:12 Scale Pink Hydrangeas

This weekend was terribly busy for me. Chinese New Year is just less than a week away, and I had to do some spring cleaning in my room. Cleaned out the corners, bought a storage box to store some stuff, threw out the old paper box, and also finally sat down to start making new curtains for my room. I bought some very nice pink shabby chic fabric in Spotlight last year, but never had the chance to sit down to sew it for my room. Finally, yesterday evening, I dug out my sewing machine and started working on it. These are very modest curtains, and nothing fancy at all, but a nice looking fabric makes a whole lot of difference!

Miniature wise, I have not been able to work a thing this weekend, due to all the cleaning and clearing. Over the week, I made a little pot of miniature pink hydrangeas which I'm really pleased. I love the colours, love the elegant look. It makes me so happy just looking at it...and I hope it makes you happy too.

A Gypsy Princess

Introducing Syeria which means Princess. I had a request to create a gypsy with bright colors and lots of jewelry. Here she is dancing her way into men's hearts!! She stands just under 5-1/2 inches and is made of porcelain, poured, painted, costumed and wigged by moi :)
