This series was created by Luciano Linzi, artistic director of Casa del Jazz of Rome, was produced in collaboration with publishing group "la Repubblica/L'espresso".

The series was published for four consecutive years, 2006_2007_2008_2009.

41 CDs in all, sold over 1.000.000 copies.

The recordings are all original live productions.

These CDs are not for sale, but were distributed in Italy with the weekly magazine "L'espresso".

Dear Friends , we the Administrators ,here at Inconstant sol united in our admiration of and love for the music of Charles Mingus,a pivotal,indisputably central figure in the History of 20th Century music... have recently learned of a nascent Film project being put together at present by Kevin Ellington Mingus , the great man's grandson (Who incidently is an improvising bassist & composer in his own right) , and have agreed to support it in any way we can .
Kevin Mingus describes his main motivation for making this film as

"A grandson’s journey through the lore and legends of jazz history to find his grandfather, Charles Mingus."... read about it here on his website.

Through contact with his representatives, it has also come to our attention that those involved in this project are seeking unpublished concert footage and or any other possibly relevant archival materials .

We ask therefore ,that if you are in possession of anything that is unpublished and relevant you please consider making those archival materials available to the film makers.

Some of soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy's most interesting recordings are his earliest ones. After spending periods of time playing with Dixieland groups and then with Cecil Taylor (which was quite a jump), Lacy made several recordings that displayed his love of Thelonious Monk's music plus his varied experiences. On this particular set, Lacy's soprano contrasts well with Charles Davis' baritone (they are backed by bassist John Ore and drummer Roy Haynes) on three of the most difficult Monk tunes ("Introspection," "Played Twice," and "Criss Cross") plus two Cecil Taylor compositions and Charlie Parker's "Donna Lee." - Scott Yanow

Queridos Visitantes,

Acabei de receber a resposta do mediafire. Eles deletaram sumariamente todos os meus arquivos (quase 1000) e a minha conta.

Que pena, não é?

De hoje em diante, eu não vou comprar mais nenhum CD e nem um DVD que não seja independente. (Esta é a única reação que me parece possível: mexer no bolso das GRANDES)

O nosso trabalho de resgate, preservação e divulgação da cultura musical (de pelo menos 20 anos atrás) é apoiada pelos artistas em sua grande maioria. São as GRANDES GRAVADORAS que se incomodam conosco. Para elas, é melhor que a boa música seja esquecida e que novos públicos mais refinados (ou mais afinados, como queiram) sejam formados, pois fica cada vez mais fácil derramar a porcaria que eles chamam de música e que enche os cofres deles de dinheiro.

Vou tirar umas férias e depois vou colocar a criatividade para funcionar novamente.

O Abracadabra se tornou, por enquanto, um site de música para leitura. Que ridículo!

Yonin Bayashi biography
A Japanese brilliant progressive gem, the young four-piece outfit YONIN BAYASHI was formed in 1971.

Two musically talented high school students, Daiji Okai (drums, various instruments) and Katsutoshi Morizono (guitars, voices) had a fateful rendezvous at Saginomiya High School in 1969. With Shin'ichi Nakamura (bass) and Hidemi Sakasita (keyboards) joining, they played a complete but fully improvised version of Echoes by Pink Floyd, shocking and amazing the audience.

YONIN BAYASHI made their debut in 1974, releasing a legendary work Isshoku-Sokuhatsu through Toho Records.

In their early days, they were, as everyone says, under the influence of Pink Floyd and psychedelic rock, in addition to the spiritual lyrics by Yasuo Suematsu.

The bassist was replaced by Masahide Sakuma and they released the second album Golden Picnics, but soon Katsutoshi dropped out. YONIN BAYASHI exited the crisis with the arrival of Mitsuru Satoh(guitars, vocals). They changed music styles, approaching pop and electronic, and shot three more good albums - Printed Jelly (1977), Bao (1978), and NEO-N (1979).

After a long hibernation, once Dance (1989) was released, YONIN BAYASHI is active again in the 21st century, playing gigs, joining festivals, and making their historical compilation.

Link Atualizado graças ao blog Mis Discos Viejos e como muitos links estão rodando diariamente, trouxe somente pra aqueles que estão procurando no blog e o post está caído.

Fico triste tb, como disse só em um lugar foram 10 gbs de arquivos, em outro quase isso e assim por diante, não dá nem pra saber o que rodou, conforme vou achando dou um jeito.

Nesse caso foi o mais rápido pra satisfazer o gosto de quem não pegou à época em 12/09/09 e depois 25/08/10 ou simplesmente quer conhecer devido a partida recente de Spineta.

Mas vale a pena ter o disco na íntegra como disse o meu ganhei do Omar mas nesse momento não está comigo como muitos outros discos raros que tenho.

Mas música pra mim só tem dois tipos: Boa ou Ruim!

Graças ao post do Órion's Bethoven,a curiosidade e a vontade de vários amigos em comentar sobre a sonoridade e o estilo do som latino despertou por aqui e é realmente muito bom.

Aqui está uma colaboração do Omar que já é um belo fruto, com um disco de "só" 40 anos atrás, e claro que alguns poderiam dizer "que velharia" mas os mesmos não dizem do Zep, dos Stones, do Purple, do Who.

Mas qdo são outros que não os "carimbados" que sempre saem aos montes em tudo que é tipo de blog, aí os caras se acham prq sobram comentários do tipo "que aquela enésima versão daquela mesma centenária música é o "máximo" e etc e etc; e estamos todos baixando ó iluminado postador!!!!

Eu continuo sem luz mesmo e indo na contra mão prq sou do contra e gosto de conhecer, ouvir, e saber de onde veio tal coisa e de onde saiu outra, enfim, quero aprender e tirar minhas próprias conclusões e não receber pronto dos outros que vieram antes de mim e que até menos sabem.

Ainda outro dia uma amiga me disse: "Nossa essa música de tal banda é até legal né? e eu falei : essa música não é deles, eles regravaram um sucesso de tal dos anos 50; ela me olha espantada e me diz: e vc lá conhece ".........." pra falar uma besteira dessa?"

Obs:Este post havia sido feito em 12/09/09, mas depois que estreitamos nossos laços, o Omar me presenteou com uma jóia original compilando os 03 anos citados da banda com as 20 músicas abaixo.

Por isso mereceu a repostagem prq é um trabalho realmente muito bom e como já disse, nem imaginava que tão perto tinha tanta coisa boa como venho acompanhando, sei que na adolescência se entrasse mais informação o cérebro fritaria, só que valeria a pena,rs.Los cuatro integrantes de la banda eran compañeros del Instituto San Román. De la unión de las bandas Los Sbirros y Los Larkings (formadas por compañeros de distintas divisiones) nació Almendra allá por 1967. Este grupo es considerado miembro de una trilogía inicial del rock argentino, junto a Los Gatos y a Manal.
El primer simple, "Tema de Pototo" / "El mundo entre las manos", fue lanzado en septiembre de 1968 y la repercusión inmediata provino del estilo refinado, los arreglos vocales poco comunes y la poesía lírica de las letras, que contrastaban con los estribillos del beat de moda.
Los primeros shows fueron en Rosario y Córdoba, acompañando a Johnny Tedesco. «Nos mandaban a tocar a clubes donde la gente quería ver a Los Iracundos o a Jolly Land y nosotros ibamos vestidos con camisetas, cuando los otros tipos iban con trajecitos de lamé y corbatita. (...) Para nosotros era como una cruzada abriendo orejas», relata Del Guercio (E.Abalos, pag 100).En 1969 llegó la consagración, con innumerables presentaciones en vivo, entre las cuales sobresalen la temporada veraniega en Mar del Plata, el Festival de la Canción de Lima, Perú, y el Festival Pinap, organizado por la revista homónima.

Todo este éxito los catapultó a grabar el primer LP ("Almendra", 1969) y, casi inmediatamente, el segundo disco, de doble duración, en 1970.
Esta repercusión repentina los condujo a interminables giras y shows, que desgastaron la relación entre los músicos.

A fines de 1970, Almendra se disolvía.
Una de sus últimas presentaciones fue en el B.A.Rock de ese año, ante 10.000 personas. «La vida de Almendra fue corta pero muy intensa -comenta Del Guercio-.
Igual fue un corte medio abrupto para la gente, porque cuando nos separamos se estaba generando cada vez más adhesión hacia nosotros» (E.Abalos, pág 102).En diciembre de 1979 se produjo el reencuentro. A instancias del productor Alberto Ohanián se organizaron dos presentaciones en el estadio de Obras (en los cuales se regitró un disco en vivo y se filmó para una película que nunca llegó a compaginarse) y una gira nacional que abarcó las grandes ciudades del interior. La prensa especializada calificó despectivamente al regreso de Almendra como "comercial".

Almendra tuvo un segundo regreso hacia fines de 1980, cuando grabaron "El valle interior" y lo presentaron en Obras los días 7 y 8 de diciembre como prólogo a una gira nacional. La última presentación fue en el Festival de La Falda, el 15 de febrero de 1981.Credits
