Seattle Mariners pitcher Cliff Lee has been suspended for the first five games of the regular season for throwing a pitch over the head of Arizona's Chris Snyder in an exhibition game this week. Lee is in his first season with Seattle. The former AL Cy Young winner was ejected from Monday's game.

Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington admitted he made a "huge mistake" when he used cocaine and failed a Major League Baseball drug test last season. Former Eagles S Jones joining Bucs (AP)
Free agent safety Sean Jones has agreed to a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team announced the deal Wednesday. Jones played for Philadelphia last season after spending the first five years of his career with the Cleveland Browns. He started nine games with the Eagles, finishing with 72 tackles, one sack and two interceptions.
